12/16/2019 0 Comments Mindful Tips for Teachers: Tip #5Tip #5 Greet Students at the Door Today’s tip is one for you to use with your students. Greeting students at the door sets the tone for connecting with your students at the very start of the day. We can take that one step further by giving students a choice of the type of connection they need in that moment. Some days our students need more than other days. Each student has a threshold for connection and the events in their lives within the last 24 hours will determine how much connection they need. After you have modeled this procedure, choose two students to be the greeters. This supports the student toward building community with each other. Ask two different students each day. To encourage you to get started with this procedure, you can find a free download in my Teachers Pay Teachers Store. Please leave a comment below to let me know how this works for you or you can reach out to me on Facebook and Instagram. AuthorHi! Thank you for joining me on this journey. After spending 30 years in education, I'm writing my next chapter. This blog is a journey through that next chapter as I explore myself and the world around me. I write about mindfulness, how it has supported my life and how it can support you as well. My wish for you is to take what you need and leave the rest. Archives
